Incoloy800 Material introduction

Incoloy800 alloy(UNS NO8800/W.Nr.1.4876)It is a kind of structural material widely used in equipment requiring corrosion resistance, heat resistance, high strength and stability in service up to 1500 ° F (816 ° C). Incoloy 800 alloy is resistant to uniform corrosion and stress corrosion cracking in many aqueous solutions due to its nickel content. At higher temperatures, it provides resistance to oxidation, carburization and vulcanization, and has certain cracking and creep strength. For applications requiring higher cracking resistance and creep, especially at temperatures above 1500 ° F (816 ° C), INCOLOY800H and 800HT alloys should be used.


The chromium in Incoloy 800 alloy provides both water solution resistance and heat resistance. Iron provides internal oxidation resistance. Nickel content maintains ductility and austenitic structure. Therefore, 800 alloy can be formed, welded and machined.

Incoloy 800 alloy is used in various environments involving corrosion and high temperature. It is used for heat treatment equipment such as basket, tray, fixture, etc. This alloy is used as nitric acid medium in chemical and petrochemical processes, especially in heat exchangers and other piping systems that require resistance to chloride stress corrosion. It is used as steam generator tube in nuclear power plant. The alloy is usually used for the housing of electric heating elements in household appliances. In pulp production, the heater of cooking solution is often made of 800 alloy. In the petroleum industry, the alloy is used to make heat exchangers for air cooling process steam.
